MM Duo

Eva Mach began her violin studies at the Academy of Music in Zagreb at the age of 16 with Prof. Taras Petcheny, with whom she also earned her Master’s degree in 2015. During her studies she won numerous prizes in both national and international competitions. The peak of her academic career was a solo performance accompanied by Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra at the Main Hall of Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb in 2015, performing Concerto for Violin & Orchestra in D Major by P.I.Tchaikovsky. She was also a member of Euphony Youth Orchestra and Orchestre des Jeunes de la Mediterranee under the guidance of internationally acclaimed conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda and Alain Altinoglu. She took a number of master classes with distinguished violin pedagogues, and this year (2018) she completed her second Master’s degree studies in Augsburg (Germany) with an acclaimed violin professor Petru Munteanu. For the season 2017/2018 she performs with Rheinische Pilharmonie as a member of the First Violins.
After graduating from high school, Marko Mihajlović started his music educationat the Academy of Music in Zagreb where he took up percussions with Prof. Igor Lešnik, earning his Bachelor’s degree in 2004. He joined the Bing Bang ensemble during his studies, and performed at the world’s biggest percussion festivals(Taipei, Nashville, Paris, Warsaw, Valencia, Montevideo, Beijing) in the period of ten years. The Ensemble won a prize at the PASIC Marching Percussion Festival, Nashville, USA, as the best student percussion ensemble in the world. They also recorded a CD for the American company Equilibrium Records. He won the Rector’s Award for these projects in 2004. Towards the end of his studies Marko joined the Cantus Ensemble and he is still its member. They have performed around the world (Paris, London, Beijing, Toronto, Vilnius, Bern) and they won the Judita Award. Since 2007 he has served as first timpanist in the Croatian National Theatre Orchestra. He has been a member of the MM duo (violin & marimba) with the violinist Eva Mach since 2015 and in 2016 he started teaching at the Academy of Music in Zagreb.
